Wedding planning is not an easy task. Regardless of how simple you want your wedding to be, there are a myriad of choices you’ll still have to make. Planning long distance is even harder. I’ve never seen a couple step up to the task like Kelsey & Jon did for their Lower Lake Ranch wedding this weekend.
When we first met Jon, he was carrying a laptop, which he proceeded to setup so we could Skype Kelsey into our meeting. She was in Brooklyn finishing up a pharmacy residency program, so we got to know each other, Jon in person and Kelsey over a patchy wifi signal. When all was said and done, they felt like we were a good fit – which is good, because we did, too.
We finally met Kelsey in person this weekend where more details spilled out about their last few months. While trying to plan their wedding from 1,819 miles away (approximately), there’s only so much you can do online. But luckily, unlike some grooms, Jon was dialed in to the necessities of planning and stepped up to the plate. When their original venue fell through, he researched many other options and found (and visited) Lower Lake Ranch. He handled several other odds and ends (of which, when it comes to weddings, there are many). He even planned some of the day’s special touches, including a tender moment where the soon-to-be-weds exchanged letters and spent a quiet moment together before the ceremony.
All the hard work Kelsey and Jon put in paid off in the form of a relaxed and happy wedding day. With their ability to work together and share a heavy load, I have no doubt they’re well on their way to a happy marriage!
