Vail Mountain Wedding

Jesse and I woke up bright and early to finish our sojourn into the mountains for our second wedding of the weekend. The drive was gorgeous and we both reflected on how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful state. Vail was bustling with the GoPro Games, which made some of our photo plans a little difficult. But we improvised for Chelsea and Jared’s Vail Mountain wedding – and did so quite successfully, if you ask me.
For the first time in our history of doing weddings, I got the chance to get to the first look location with the bride before the groom was ready. On the gondola ride to the top of Vail Mountain, Chelsea warned me she was likely to cry, so we talked strategy to keep the tears at bay. However, it was a futile exercise because the happy tears would flow freely the whole day.

One windy first look later, we made our way back to the Sonnenalp. Tourists couldn’t help turning their heads to gawk at Chelsea and Jared. They were the epitome of class. Jared had told Chelsea that he wanted her dripping in diamonds on her wedding day (reportedly, her arm didn’t take much twisting) and the result was simply stunning. From the gondola ride down the mountain, all the way through the poolside reception, Jesse and I kept catching the public staring at the couple.

After the ceremony, Chelsea’s father, decked out in his dress blues, gave a short but amazingly sweet toast to the newlyweds. Remember those tears I mentioned? Not a dry eye in the house.

(But then it was time to party!)

Chelsea and Jared, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your Vail mountain wedding. We can’t wait until our paths cross again!
