Jesse and I returned to our old stomping grounds last weekend for Sarah and Patrick’s Greenbriar Inn wedding. And while it’s been some time since we’ve been to Boulder for a wedding, we put together a greatest hits tour for their portraits. Continue reading →

A few weeks ago, a large, heavy box arrived at our doorstep from Amazon. Since we were in the midst of weddings and wedding preparations, the box sat unopened in the closet. Until last Thursday, when we finally broke into it for Courtney and Derek’s Holi powder engagement shoot! Continue reading →
Based on Mo and Trey’s Boulder engagement session photos, you wouldn’t have guessed that we were on one of the busiest trails in Boulder the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Despite Shanahan Ridge Trail being filled with people who ate too much and were trying to burn off calories before they do it all over again at Christmas, we were able to find some peaceful spots off the beaten path to take in the sunset. Even though I’m not from Colorado originally, I’ve embraced the dogs + microbrew lifestyle 100%. So when Kelly and Nick mentioned that they have three goofy dogs and like to visit breweries, it was a no-brainer to combine these activities for their brewery engagement session. Continue reading →
Our next wedding came right on the heels of Saturday’s Mon Cheri wedding. Sydney & Ben tied the knot at Wedgewood on Boulder Creek on their seventh anniversary. We’re rapidly approaching our first wedding of 2016, so we decided to stretch our photography muscles with an experimental smoke bomb engagement shoot last weekend. We started out in the bright morning sunshine at the base of the Flatirons testing our new lighting set up, the Paul C. Buff Einstein 640, which allows us to shoot with studio lighting in even the brightest sunlight. Continue reading →

Lots of decisions need to be made in the coming weeks/months and choosing your photographer is definitely one of the most important. So what are the most essential questions to ask when hiring a wedding photographer? Read on to find out.
As we wrap up another calendar year, it’s time again to take a look back at some of our favorite wedding (and engagement) photos from the past 12 months. A few highlights included finally capturing our white whale (Della Terra Mountain Chateau), traveling to Mexico for a traditional Mayan ceremony and returning to one of our favorite Colorado venues, the Dunafon Castle.
