Kirsten and Mike’s mixed martial arts engagement session was a wonderfully collaborative experience. As owners of and coaches at MMA gym The Training Camp, it was a no-brainer to highlight that aspect of their life during their engagement shoot. I swear I must have checked the weather at least fifty times on Friday and Saturday. We had a Union Station engagement shoot planned with Ashley and Tim for Saturday evening at sunset and Colorado had decided it was going to have one of its few cloudy days. I was completely convinced that we would be shooting with flat light and no view of the mountains. However, we lucked out, because on our drive to Cheesman Park, the clouds over the mountains inexplicably cleared enough for us to see the sun but not so much as to rob us of the dramatic sunset.

It’s rare to find a spot in Denver that has a great view of both the city and the mountains, but Sloan’s Lake Park offers it all, which made it the perfect spot for Jenifer and Karl’s engagement photos last Thursday.
