Big Sky Wedding

Amber and Jay are no strangers to having teammates. Both played sports at the college level – soccer and football, respectively. Then Amber went on to play soccer professionally while Jay shifted into coaching. And yet it was obvious to anyone who attended their Big Sky wedding that the best team they’ve ever been on is Team Wisner.

I’m certainly not the first one to draw a comparison between being on a team and being in a marriage, but it really is an apt description. Both require working together to achieve a common goal. But in a marriage, instead of having 11 players on the field, you have a team of two. No subs. And you have to play the entire game. (Although, Amber and Jay do have a secret MVP in the form of Henley.)

But Amber and Jay don’t shy away from challenges. They’ve faced plenty of hardships in their time together and it’s clear they’ve come out the other side stronger and more secure in their team. It certainly doesn’t hurt to have a rabid fan base. Their friends and family who traveled all the way to a tiny chapel in Big Sky, Montana, to cheer on the wedding made that very clear. These folks had the kindest things to say about the couple, gave the best celebratory hugs, and took on partying like it was their job.

There’s no doubt in my mind that these two will continue to support each other and tackle whatever life throws their way, as a team.

Unless it’s musical chairs. Then it’s everyone for themselves.

Amber and Jay, we hope you and Henley had a wonderful mini-honeymoon road trip home and that your respective upcoming seasons go well!
