Boettcher Mansion Wedding

On our drive up to Kelly and Nick’s Boettcher Mansion wedding on the top of Lookout Mountain, we were a little concerned that we wouldn’t have the views of the mountains we were hoping for. The day was chilly, considering the 90-degree temps we’ve been having all summer, and the mountain was blanketed by clouds. We could barely see around the curves in the road.

Our location scouting confirmed our worries. We were pointed toward a trailhead across the road from the mansion where we could get views Denver and the mountains. However, when we trekked over there, all we saw was a mass of white clouds. Don’t get me wrong, it was still absolutely beautiful in an eerie and mysterious kind of way, similar to our Chief Hosa Lodge wedding earlier this year. Never willing to let the weather dictate our plan, we decided to start there for the couple’s photos, whether it was foggy, sunny, or anywhere in between.

But by the time the ceremony began, most of the fog had cleared off. We ran through some family photos and goofed around with the wedding party before we took Kelly and Nick off to the trailhead. When we got there, we were rewarded with a view more amazing than we could have hoped! Every new angle brought another breathtaking vista. The sun streaked through the clouds above the mountains running off into the distance, while we were perched in the perfect spot to take it all in. But there’s no reason for me to attempt to describe it in words. We’ve got pictures and I hear just one of them is worth a thousand words.

Kelly and Nick, thank you so much for entrusting us to capture your incredible Boettcher Mansion wedding. Cheers to you two!
