Cherry Creek Wedding

After spending much of the previous week in the mountains, we were looking forward to mixing it up a bit with Patricia and Kevin’s Cherry Creek wedding at the JW Marriott. Don’t get me wrong, I love the mountains. But Denver is a city with unending nooks and crannies perfect for wedding photography and we love to take advantage of that.

There was no shortage of glitz and glam at this wedding, from the details on Patricia’s dress to the pearls in her hair and the brooches on her bouquet. But more prevalent was the sheer amount of love and support in the room. As soon as you met this couple, you became part of their family.

I was lucky enough to witness a moment that really showed how much thought and care these two put into every aspect of their lives. Just before Patricia and her bridesmaids slipped into their dresses, she gave each one a piece of jewelry. These weren’t your typical bridesmaids gifts; they weren’t matching and they didn’t have their names inscribed. Instead, Patricia had personally selected a piece that reflected not only the bridesmaid’s personality, but also what Patricia hoped her future would hold. Each was delivered with a detailed explanation and received with happy tears.

Throughout this process, Patricia’s parents watched on in the form of a hand-drawn portrait Kevin had commissioned especially for Patricia. Though her parents were unable to be there physically, they were clearly at the wedding in spirit, celebrating with smiles on their faces.

As the night wore down, the newlyweds snuck off for a quick wardrobe change before riding off on their motorcycles to what was sure to be an amazing after party!

Patricia and Kevin, thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your amazing Cherry Creek wedding day with you. You two are so kind and caring; Keaton and Price are lucky to have both of you in their lives.

When we first met Jerrica and Jason, they brought along part of their wedding stationery set give us an idea of how awesome their Planet Bluegrass wedding was going to be. Now, we’ve seen some wedding stationery in our day and this piece had nothing in common with any of the watercolor, hand-calligraphed, blush champagne items you usually see. Instead, the couple had designed and created VIP-style concert badges for their festival themed wedding.
