Colorado Horse Ranch Engagement
We’re behind the Chinese New Year by approximately two years, apparently, because 2016 has been our own Year of the Horse. With Tank and Thunder at Devil’s Thumb Ranch and an unnamed mare at our most recent wedding, we’re starting to sense a trend. One which we happily continued with yesterday’s Colorado horse ranch engagement shoot at a horse ranch near Castle Rock.
Melisa and Sam met us at the ranch to take some “family photos” with Lucky the horse and their horse-shy dog, Mia. Lucky was the consummate host at Ginny and Dan’s ranch near Franktown, making sure that we always got his good side. He’s retired now, but used to compete in horse shows with Melisa. And as if we didn’t already have an amazing enough setup, Colorado delivered a spectacular sunset that evening, making Melisa and Sam’s engagement photos even more amazing. We wrapped up the shoot in downtown Castle Rock and confirmed what we already suspected: we’re going to have a blast photographing their wedding at Copper Mountain next year!
