Colorado Mountain Engagement
Everyone has a favorite spot, a place that holds a plethora of happy memories. But few of us are fortunate enough for that place to literally be on a mountain peak. Anna and Berry are part of that lucky group, so Jesse and I hopped in the car and made a lovely Saturday drive to Drake for their Colorado mountain engagement shoot.
A winding dirt road took us up to Anna’s family cabin perched above the Big Thompson Canyon. A few decades ago, Anna’s grandparents had money burning a hole in their pocket and a desire to buy land in the mountains. On a whim, they drove to Estes Park, walked into a random real estate office and, in the best possible case of being in the right place at the right time, found this amazing parcel of land. Over the next few years, Anna’s father and her uncles built the cabin that now stands on her grandparents’ plot of land, with breathtaking views of Longs Peak and the Mummy Range.
So Anna and her cousins grew up running wild through the forest and playing Lord of the Rings (because how could you not in a place like that?). But it’s not just childhood memories that Anna has of the cabin. The first time Berry visited Colorado, traveling from his native Kentucky, Anna took him to the cabin and its there that he fell in love with Colorado and continued falling in love with Anna.
But there’s no point in me wasting any more of your time trying to describe in words what we captured in photos. Words just don’t do it justice.
Anna and Berry (and Bobbie and Jim), thank you so much for being such wonderful hosts during this super fun Colorado mountain engagement. We are so excited to work with you again at your wedding in December!
