Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms Wedding

If I had to pick three words to sum up Betsy and Scot’s Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms wedding, it would be “family” and “found family.” Come to think of it, that’s really only two words. But I digress.

Both sets of parents were in attendance and Betsy’s siblings stood in as her bridespeople. Scot was an only child and found his brothers in his friends. His best man, “Denver Dan,” (who admitted the moniker makes more sense when he’s out of state) specifically called out being chosen brothers with Scot during his toast. Being an only child myself, I can wholeheartedly relate to this sentiment. And with a guest list of 200, Betsy and Scot’s ability to turn friends into family was abundantly clear.

Other highlights for me included:

Starting the day by enjoying a wee dram of Breckenridge Bourbon in the yurt with the groom and groomsmen.

Scot explaining that his name has only one “t” because when he was a child, he decided that the second “t” was redundant.

And enjoying one of my favorite Colorado wedding bands, Whitewater Ramble, play two sets late into the night, which concluded with a group singalong of John Denver’s “Country Roads,” (with “Colorado” substituted for “West Virginia,” naturally).

Betsy and Scot, thank you both so much for having us at your Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms wedding (longwinded SEO plug there). Even though the Hora is “never fun for the people on the chairs,” I hope the fact that it’s always fun for the people behind the cameras will make it more palatable when going through the photos. Cheers to you two!
