Engagement Session in Downtown Denver

There was no rest for the weary after Elizabeth and John’s Denver Botanic Gardens wedding. The very next day, we made our way to LoDo for Zoe and and Charlie’s engagement session in downtown Denver.

We started at one of our all-time favorite bars, Seven Grand Denver. Since Zoe and Charlie are getting married next year at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, which has a world-famous cocktail bar in the lobby, they wanted to match that vibe during their engagement session.

Seven Grand has a sort of speakeasy feel to it, so we knew it would fit the bill. Not to mention, they have the best staff in town. They have not once, but twice now, allowed us to come in an hour before opening to take photos (check out Tyler and Landon’s wedding to see our other session at 7G). And, the cocktail menu is extensive, and each one is amazing. And, they have really nice pool tables. And, it’s nice and cool inside on a hot summer day. And…well, that’s probably enough. Suffice it to say, we really love this place.

After a few games of pool and a couple tasty beverages to wet our whistles, we headed down to the Denver performing arts complex and sculpture park for a few outdoor portraits in the blistering August heat. This is an area of the city we’ve always loved, but never had a chance to photograph during a portrait session. And since we always try to do at least one thing we’ve never done before during every shoot, this was the perfect fit.

Zoe and Charlie, it was an absolute joy to hang out with you two and photograph your engagement session in downtown Denver. We can’t wait for round two next year. See you at the Stanley!
