Estes Park Wedding at Della Terra

One of our favorite things about Colorado weddings is hiking to remote places in the mountains to take photos with the newlyweds. Sometimes, we do this for the engagement session. Sometimes, we do this for the day-after session. And sometimes, we manage to do this on the actual day of the wedding. Such was the case with Kellie and Jordan’s super fun Estes Park wedding at Della Terra.

It’s somewhat rare to hike on the day of the wedding because it takes time, you get sweaty, and the dress can get dirty. But Kellie came prepared! She had not one, but THREE dresses in her wedding day inventory. And one of those dresses was specifically reserved for our pre-ceremony hike in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Kellie and Jordan also made sure to bring proper footwear (you’d be surprised how many couples think they can hike in heels and/or men’s dress shoes). The two also made sure to include enough time in their wedding day timeline so that we wouldn’t feel rushed. And even better, they knew exactly which hike they wanted to do months in advance so that we could go and take a look ahead of time. Talk about a wedding photographer’s dream couple!

Kellie and Jordan, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your Estes Park Wedding at Della Terra and, of course, for being the world’s most prepared bride and groom. We hope to see you in Colorado (or Tampa) again before too long!

In October of 2022, Jesse and I were at home with a rare weekend off from weddings in what’s typically our busiest month of the season. I was doing what I’m currently doing now and catching up on writing blog posts. Jesse was sequestered in his editing cave. And we both got a notification on…

  • Montana Destination Wedding

Allie and Dustin booked us for their Montana destination wedding long before the word “pandemic” landed in our daily lexicon. They wanted plenty of time to plan the ultimate blowout celebration with all their closest friends and family, so they had planned their date two years in advance. Luckily, that meant that they skipped the whole 2020 rescheduling chaos and still got the wedding of their dreams.
