Evergreen, Colorado Wedding

At the beginning of Laura and Austin’s Evergreen, Colorado wedding day, Austin turned to me and asked “Want a beer?” I said something like “maybe later” and he came back with “If you can’t do your job after two beers, you’re probably in the wrong line of work.” I thought to myself, “Well, that’s a good point” and accepted his offer.

This is just one of many examples of how Laura and Austin made us feel that we we a part of the festivities, as opposed to separate from them. That we were friends as opposed to “the help.”

The wedding was held at Laura’s parents’ house, a beautiful property on a hilltop just north of Evergreen. The ceremony was help on their rooftop patio with sweeping views of the Rockies. Like most “backyard” weddings, the entire day was relaxed and fun and devoid of the trappings of a more traditional wedding. No rigid timeline. No need to rush from one scripted event to another. Just good people, good food and drink, and good conversation.

One of our favorite parts of the day involved hiking up to a rocky promontory above the property for the first look and bride and groom portraits. Since this was Laura’s childhood home, she grew up climbing these rocks and wanted to incorporate them into her wedding day. And boy, we’re glad she did because the views at the top were magnificent (scroll for photos).

Laura and Austin, your Evergreen, Colorado wedding was one of the most enjoyable wedding days of our 17-year career. It truly did not feel a bit like work. Huge thanks to you both for including us and we hope our paths cross again soon!
