Fall Wedding at Dunafon Castle

One of our favorite parts of photographing weddings in Colorado is the outdoor ceremonies. The state has so many beautiful vistas, nobody wants to be cooped up indoors. The only potential downside is the possibility of inclement weather. But while it did, in fact, pour rain for a good portion of Sarah and Joe’s fall wedding at Dunafon Castle, the couple’s planning and catering team handled the situation deftly.

Partly cloudy skies in the morning gave way to thunderheads in the afternoon, just before the ceremony was scheduled to begin. Since the radar map showed no sign of it letting up anytime soon, Sarah, Joe and Pam from Celebrations Event Planning decided to move forward as scheduled.

Pam’s team along with the Footers catering staff quickly moved all of the chairs for the guests underneath the dinner tent and equipped the bride, groom and wedding party with umbrellas. The result was a beautiful, fanciful, drizzly outdoor wedding ceremony reminiscent of the Scottish countryside with the Dunafon Castle serving as a backdrop.

The day progressed with dancing on the castle rooftop and casino games inside by the fireplace, which gave guests multiple options for how to spend their evening.

Sarah and Joe, thanks again to you both for allowing us to capture your big day. It was an absolute joy working with you two. And thanks to Pam and Footers for all their hard work in making the wedding go off without a hitch, despite the weather.
