Fall Wedding at Greenbriar Inn

When we first moved to Boulder and started our wedding photography business in 2008, the Greenbriar Inn was one of the very first venues we photographed. In the 16 years since, we’ve had the pleasure of working many more weddings there, but Sydney and Jacob’s fall wedding at Greenbriar Inn marked the first time we have eve seen a bride capture a live snake (see first photo below).

Most people would likely have notified the venue staff and had the problem taken care of for them. But not Sydney. She calmly picked little guy up by its tail and released it back into the wild from whence it came.

This act aligned perfectly with a really cool throughline we noticed with Sydney and Jacob very early on in the booking process. A lot of couples like to “DIY” (Do It Yourself) their weddings, but a more apt descriptor for how these two approached the wedding planning process would be GSD (Get Sh*t Done).

The couple first reached out to us in February, jumped on a phone call the following day and signed their contract the day after that, making them one of the most efficient inquiries to bookings we’ve ever had.

They also had checklists, did a ton of research on what makes a wedding day fun, and systematically made it happen. Sydney also taught herself how to do her own hair and makeup (which turned our wonderfully) and of course, handled all of her own snake catching without third party intervention.

Sydney and Jacob, thank you both so much for having us at your fall wedding at Greenbriar Inn. If you’re interested, you’ll always have a second career as wedding planners waiting for you!
