Garden of the Gods Wedding

Anya and Ben’s Garden of the Gods wedding was so epic, it couldn’t be contained to a single day or location. Instead, we joined the couple and their guests for three days of partying at the Garden of the Gods Resort and the Pinery, both with equally beautiful – but vastly different – views of Colorado Springs.

Both of their Friday and Saturday night parties had jaw-dropping views of the Rockies as the sun dipped down behind the mountains. With most of their guests joining them from Wichita, I lost count of the number of times we heard “look at that view!” But I will be the first to admit that it impressed even those of us from Colorado. A couple of times, I caught myself just drinking in the environmental eye-candy. During their reception, however, we were all treated to a sweeping view of Colorado Springs, with the building lights twinkling in the darkness, showing off Colorado’s visual range.

But in spite of all the luscious scenery, Anya and Ben couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Throughout the welcome parties and their wedding day, they would catch each other’s eye from across the room and both would just beam with happiness. It was clear to everyone that the views didn’t matter. Anya and Ben could have gotten married in an alley in Wichita and they would have been as radiant. The views were just the cherry on top of this ice cream sundae.

Anya and Ben, thank you for including us in the day’s laughs, tears, and raucous reception! You two sure know how to put on a party and we are honored to have gotten to know you and your families.

While Jesse and I have our own photo “bucket list,” we always love when couples have a crazy idea of their own for an Alt Session. Catherine’s a girl who knows what she wants and goes after that, and that’s something I hold in the highest regard. Her persistence was evident in the many stories shared at Catherine & Kacey’s Chief Hosa Lodge wedding. And even though it was snowy and cold outside, the lodge was warmed by the fire and…
