Great Sand Dunes Engagement
One of the things that can make or break a photo shoot is the level of trust a couple has in us. The more a couple trusts our (sometimes bizarre) requests, the better the photos turn out because they’re able to relax and rest easy, knowing that we’re going to take them on a super fun adventure and take some epic photos in the process. And this is precisely why Tova and Aaron’s Great Sand Dunes engagement shoot was such a success!
After talking to Tova and Aaron about various options for their Alt Session, they came back to us having selected one we were hoping they would. Sure, it meant an eight-hour round trip drive to a place they’d never been before. Yes, we then asked them to wear formal attire for a fairly strenuous hike. And, ok, we’ll all be finding sand in our cars for the next year. But throughout the whole process, Tova and Aaron were willing to go along with all of our suggestions.
To say it paid off would be a gross understatement. Colorado has plenty of epic mountain vistas, but the views at Great Sand Dunes National Park are truly unique. The mechanics of how they formed is mind-boggling and their majestic beauty defies description. The dunes were formed in the San Luis Valley in between the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the San Juan Mountains over four hundred thousand years ago. The location is absolutely breathtaking, ethereal and otherwordly. It’s one of our favorite all-time destinations to travel to. If you want to feel like you’re on Mars, this is the place for you.
Tova and Aaron, not only did we get some fantastic photos, we really enjoyed getting to know you two. Thank you so much for choosing to do this Great Sand Dunes engagement with us. We are so excited to photograph your wedding in January!
