Lodge at Cathedral Pines Wedding
Tia and Jason’s winter wedding at Lodge at Cathedral Pines wedding couldn’t have been a better celebration to round out our full year of weddings, elopements and engagements! We love small and simple weddings, especially when they’re packed with as much laughter, happy tears and festivity as possible.
You know those feel-good Christmas movies that are the best to curl up and watch on cold, snowy December evenings, with a cup of tea (or hot toddy)? Well I’m convinced that Tia and Jason are living inside a real holiday film. Even their backstories give me warm fuzzies. Tia is a lawyer, who grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Oregon, and Jason is an Emmy-winning audio engineer. But more importantly, they both laugh easily and their love for each other is instantly recognizable. In fact, after Tia’s hair and makeup was finished and she had gotten into her dress with plenty of time to spare before the ceremony, she couldn’t stop fidgeting and finally confessed, “I just want to get married to Jason already!”
Luckily, she didn’t have to wait very long until their closest friends and family arrived and took their seats in front of the fireplace. As the ceremony began, it’s a wonder that she didn’t sprint down the aisle toward Jason! After they were finally (finally!) pronounced husband and wife, everyone sat together at one big table to share in some delicious brunch treats and joyous conversation. If you were to wander by the Lodge at Cathedral Pines that morning and peek in the window, you would have discovered a tableau that could easily pass as the final scene of a holiday movie. Cue the camera panning out to show the forest of towering pine trees covered with a fresh layer of snow on a bright sunny day filled with the sound of birds chirping.
But there was a post-credits scene! After Tia and Jason’s winter wedding at Lodge at Cathedral Pines, Jesse and I got the rarest of wedding-day treats: a full three hours for the portrait session. We took full advantage by picking two beautiful and rustic locations for the couple’s portraits and shooting for as long as the sun stayed above the horizon.
Tia and Jason, thank you so much for inviting us into your own personal fairy tale! We had such a blast with you two and can’t wait to hear all your travel tips for Scotland. Cheers!
