Rocky Mountain National Park Wedding

Sammie and Kevin’s Rocky Mountain National Park wedding (and really, their entire relationship) can be summed up with two words: love and adventure.

Their lives together started out on a grand adventure: Sammie and Kevin met while studying abroad in Ecuador, where they were introduced to all kinds of new experiences and animals, including one secret midnight excursion to capture a baby boa constrictor. Because if grad students ask you if you want to catch a baby boa constrictor, the only possible answer is “YES!”

Jesse and I were fortunate enough to share in another adventure when we photographed their chilly and windy engagement shoot at the edge of the Grand Canyon. These two didn’t bat an eye, no matter how close to the edge we had them stand. After hearing about the myriad of snafus that have happened during Martin Family Vacations (trademark pending), their fearlessness made a lot of sense.

It’s easy to adventure and flirt with danger when you have such a great community supporting you – sometimes literally, in the case of Kevin’s best man, who dazzled us all by lifting the groom Dirty Dancing-style during the reception. The love that Sammie and Kevin have for each other is infectious and undeniable, just like the love that their friends and family have for them. This was precisely the kind of celebration we all needed after 2020.

Sammie and Kevin, thank you for the pants-splittingly fun party! We hope you two are enjoying your well-deserved respite in Alaska!
