SkyView Wedding at Fall River Village
Amelia and Jeff’s SkyView wedding at Fall River Village was quite possibly the windiest wedding we’ve ever photographed. Which is saying a lot because we’ve been doing this for 17 years. And most of our weddings are in the Rocky Mountains. It was one of those days where you couldn’t hear yourself think. One of those days where, if you leaned into the wind, you could stand still with your body at a 45-degree angle to the ground.
Add to that the fact that SkyView’s ceremony location is perched on the roof of a three-story building. Needless to say, we were bound to have a bit of a breeze.
Now, most couples would be worried about this. They would be worried about their hair. They’re be worried about their wardrobe. And they would be especially worried about the wedding dress and veil.
But not Amelia and Jeff. As others gently encouraged them to stay inside for photos, they politely said “No, thanks.” And when it was suggested that they move the ceremony indoors and out of the wind, they gently declined. After all, the mountain views are the primary reason couples decide to get married in Colorado.
So, we went outside for pre-ceremony portraits. And we photographed the outdoor ceremony the couple had their hearts set on. And all the while, Amelia and Jeff smiled and enjoyed themselves, not letting the weather ruin their SkyView wedding at Fall River Village.
Amelia and Jeff, thank you both for your kindness, for your positivity, and for advocating for yourselves on your wedding day. We might be a bit biased, but we think the experience and the photos were well worth the cold.
QUICK TIP
No wedding is perfect. Perfection doesn’t exist. But, if you roll with the punches and if you don’t sweat the small stuff, your wedding can be perfectly imperfect. It’s raining outside? So what? The centerpieces aren’t exactly right? Who cares? The dress gets a bit dirty? Doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that you’re marrying your favorite person on this planet with your closest friends and family there to share the day with you. What could possibly matter more than that?
