Summer Wedding at Planet Bluegrass

If you’re looking for the perfect location for your wedding, there are what feels like millions of options to choose from in Colorado. But for Maggie and Justin, whose shared passion for music is only rivaled by their shared love of each other, there was no other possible spot for their summer wedding than Planet Bluegrass. It’s got room to roam. It’s not so far into the mountains that you have to worry about your out-of-town guests driving a mountain pass. It’s just off the highway, but it feels like it’s as far from civilization as you can get. And best of all, it’s a great place to dance the night away to a band!

Maggie and Justin first met while working at the most famous music venue in Colorado: Red Rocks. So naturally, good music, dancing and booze had to be part of their wedding.

After a simple ceremony that celebrated their relationship, their guests were treated to cocktail hour on the lawn. Once everyone sat down to the al fresco dinner, Maggie and Justin kicked off the festivities with a tequila shot and lottery ticket (accompanied by plenty of jokes about someone getting lucky that night).

But the party really ramped up after the first dance when Thumpin’ hit the stage. (Fun fact: the lead singer was also Maggie’s high school English teacher!) Once the ribbons were broken out, we witnessed some Olympic-level dance moves. Jesse and I both give this wedding a perfect 10!

Maggie and Justin, it was an absolute joy to hang with you on your wedding day. You two are wonderful human beings and if you wanna get married every weekend, hit us up!
