Summer Wedding at The Estes Park Resort

It might be a bit unusual to start telling you about Kenzie and Bo’s summer wedding at The Estes Park Resort by talking about worry and stress, but bear with me.

Confession time: even after 15 years and hundreds of weddings, Jesse and I still get nervous before each wedding. This anxiety stems from a desperate desire to do an amazing job for our incredible clients. For Kenzie and Bo’s wedding, we had a little extra pressure. The team behind Alexander South NC (Alex and Mallory) were in their wedding party. So we had some experts who would be watching us all day.

On the flip side, Kenzie and Bo are two of the most chill people you’ll meet. When we planned their engagement session and had to switch up the date last-minute due to a crazy windstorm, they didn’t bat an eye. When we had them change from their warm hiking clothes into formal attire in 30-degree weather and 45-mph wind gusts, it wasn’t a problem! When we suggested they climb to the top of a boulder perched next to Lake Estes while the wind (again, with the wind, Estes!) tried its best to blow them into the lake, they hopped to and made it look sexy.

But after spending all day with them, I realized that they weren’t without their own concerns. However, we humans stress about what’s important to us. For Kenzie and Bo, their top priority is their people. Did they get enough to eat? To drink? Were they having fun? (Yes, yes, and HELL YES!) It’s crystal clear that they love their people very, very much. So if you’re in that group, I hope you know how incredibly lucky you are!

Kenzie and Bo, it would be an understatement to say that we had a blast at your wedding! We can’t wait for the next champagne-fueled adventure!

On wedding days, I like to ask our couples how they’re feeling at various times. Ostensibly, this question helps me check in with them to see if there’s anything we can do to make the experience more enjoyable. But I’ve found that it also helps bring them into the present, so they can more easily remember the day and how they felt. So when I asked Michele how she was feeling just before her first look with Eric at their Black Canyon Homestead wedding, I was intrigued when she shrugged and said she felt pretty calm.
