Taharaa Mountain Lodge Wedding

Generally speaking, when you’re planning a wedding, you book a venue and hire a planner first. But in the case of Kass and Zack’s Taharaa Mountain Lodge wedding, the first item on their to-do list was to pick a photographer.

In fact, they even included this info on their wedding program (see photo below): “Days since we picked a photographer: 458. Days since we picked a venue: 364.” We were honored, to say the least! But the best part was being able to help Kass and Zack choose the rest of their vendor team.

Now, don’t get us wrong. We love working with new people. But we really love getting to work with our friends in the industry. Kass and Zack hired one of our favorite planners in Colorado, the incredibly cool Mariah from Details Details. And one of our favorite officiants, Maree from Married by Maree. And Dancin’ Shoes DJ, who have been friends of ours for more than a decade. When you get to work with a dream team like this, the entire wedding day just seems to flow like a well-oiled machine.

Kass and Zack, we couldn’t be more grateful that you two not only hired us nearly a year and a half before your Taharaa Mountain Lodge wedding date, but also ecstatic that you added some of our favorite people in Colorado to the team as well. We can’t wait to see you next month for your post-wedding session!

Ashley and Mitch wanted their Alt Session photos to contrast the tropical location where they’re getting married. And I love a good challenge. We already shot at the Ice Castles last year, so that was out. Snow is hard to predict in Colorado, so that added another wrench. But a few months ago, on a…

It’s been a long time since we’ve taken a road trip, so it was a breath of fresh air to kick off 2021 with a drive down to Texas for McKenzie and Jake’s Houston wedding on New Year’s Day. Torrential downpours made the last 200 miles of the drive a bit treacherous, but we still…

  • Crested Butte Wedding

As anyone who lives in a travel destination knows, there’s the version of your town that the tourists see. And then there’s the real version that only the locals and a select few of their favorite people get to experience. Carrie and Conrad’s Crested Butte wedding weekend was the latter. We started our local’s tour…

  • University of Denver Wedding

There’s a lot you can say about Colorado, but you certainly can’t say the weather here is boring. We saw clouds, a little bit of sun popping out, light drizzle, torrential downpour, snow flurries, and even graupel at Alliy and Phil’s University of Denver wedding on Saturday. But I was most impressed by the couple’s attitudes through the entire day. They…
