Telluride Wedding

Ciara and Jonathan’s Telluride wedding had all the things I love to see in a wedding. Not the details or the view (although those were gorgeous, anyway). After all, when the cake has been devoured and the flowers have withered and the last song has played, the things that remain from a wedding day are the memories created from big wedding day emotions.

And the emotions felt by everyone on Ciara and Jonathan’s wedding day were the biggest and in lavish abundance. There was the pride that lit up Ciara’s father’s face every time he looked at her. The delight brought by the world’s best flower guy. The am-I-nervous-or-excited-or-a-little-bit-of-both feeling that Ciara and Jonathan experienced as the musicians began the processional music. And that was just during the ceremony!

The toasts brought happy tears and belly laughs in equal number while the dance party filled their guests with unbridled joy through debauchery. And at the end of the night, when we stole Ciara and Jonathan away for one final mini-portrait session under a sky filled with billions of stars, the newlyweds basked in the peace and serenity that only comes when you’re loved wholly and completely.

Ciara and Jonathan, we’ve had such a great time getting to know you two! You are both so kind and down-to-earth and together, you’re the very definition of soulmates. Cheers to many years of happiness!

It’s no secret that weddings have grown a bit uncontrollable. When talking to couples, one of the complaints I hear most often is how overwhelming planning a wedding can be. Amanda and Brian’s Chautauqua Park wedding was the conclusion of a seemingly insurmountable task:  plan a wedding in two months. (I know, I know….unthinkable in today’s wedding climate!) It’s that time of year again when we take a moment to look back at our year in weddings. Our best wedding photos of 2022 span nearly 11 months, from February in Estes Park all the way up to New Year’s Eve in Vail. We had quite a few “firsts” this year and checked off…

When Katherine and Ben reached out to us over a year ago about photographing their Arapahoe Basin wedding, we were excited out of the gates. After 14 years of photographing weddings, we’ve been to a lot of wedding venues. But there are still a lot more on our “want to photograph” list and A-Basin was one of them.
