Wellshire Event Center Wedding

As with many celebrations this year, this Wellshire Event Center wedding was a long time in the making. In being by Cortney and Justin’s side as they first went through planning an entire wedding, then making the difficult choice to postpone it, and then picking up with the planning again, one thing was very clear to me. These are two of the most reflective people I’ve ever met and for the things that matter the most to them, they take their decision-making responsibilities seriously.

Before their Alt Session, we sat down over beers to hash out what a “water balloon, but with paint” photo session would be like. We talked through how the photos might look, what their goals for the images were, what the potential downfalls might be, and so much more. They asked very thoughtful questions and after considering all sides of the matter, decided they wanted to go for it. (I’m biased, but I think it was pretty dang successful.)

So when faced with the decision to postpone their wedding, I don’t doubt they put even more thought into it. Making big decisions is already hard. You might never know if you made the right choice or not. And how can you even tell what makes a choice “right” or “wrong”? The Internet certainly hasn’t made it any easier with its deluge of reviews and ease of seeing what you might be missing out on.

And while I’m unable to say what’s right or wrong, I do know this: the crazy frenetic dance party they had never would have happened last year. The countless hugs would have been more reserved. The entire mood of their Wellshire Event Center wedding would have been cautious and hesitant, instead of the full-tilt celebratory feel that permeated the day.

Good things really do come to those who wait and I think the images below prove it.

Cortney and Justin, it’s been such a blast every time we get to photograph you two! We hope you are having an amazing time in Bora Bora and we want to hear all about it when you get back (hopefully over a beer or two).

Alright, technically this was Kass and Zack’s post-wedding session, but as an offering to the SEO gods, we’re calling it their EDM engagement session.
