Zion Engagement

It’s a bit of a lie to say that these photos are from Jaclyn and Matt’s Zion engagement session. But let’s be real: we gotta get that sweet, sweet SEO juice.

The reason it wasn’t an actual Zion engagement session is because life happened. Just as we were getting ready to plan Jaclyn and Matt’s Alt Session before their wedding at the Garden of the Gods Resort, Jaclyn had the opportunity to spend 10 weeks in Antarctica. Clearly this wasn’t something that she could say no to.

After trying to convince her that I could curl up and stow away in some of her luggage, we decided to turn the engagement session into a post-wedding session. Jaclyn and Matt took a mini-moon through Utah, stopping at four of the “Mighty 5” national parks. Zion had been on our list for years, so Jesse and I drove down to meet them for two days of hiking in pitch darkness, exploring the lesser-known areas, and (of course) plenty of photography goodness.

Life caught up with us here at J. La Plante, as well! Shortly after capturing Jaclyn & Matt’s Garden of the Gods Resort wedding in February, we made a big move to a new house in southern Colorado. This meant that the blog post we usually have ready to go a week or two after the wedding got delayed as we packed (and then unpacked) boxes. So this is a two-for-one: keep scrolling to also see images from Jaclyn & Matt’s wedding day, including the epic dance party led by Top Shelf 5280!
