Beaver Creek Wedding

Who says that a wedding has to take place in the afternoon? Or that you have to have cake? Or that everyone has to sit through a best man or maid of honor toast? No one. that’s who. So if none of those things tickle your fancy, do what Nicole and Dustin did for their Beaver Creek wedding and scrap ’em!

Nicole and Dustin’s wedding day was laid back and simple. They had ample time in the morning to get ready and they made sure their favorite people were there to help. For Nicole, that meant that her niece did her makeup; for Dustin, it meant that their dog Ellie made a cameo on his socks!

Their ceremony on the Beaver Creek Lodge skier bridge was perhaps one of my favorite ceremonies I’ve heard in the past 10 years. Crafted by Nicole and read by their good friend Grace, this ceremony included time for the couple to breathe and take in the day – something not a lot of couples get a chance to do at their wedding. And take a look at that crazy chemistry unity ceremony; I thought I’d seen them all!

By stripping away the pomp and circumstance that didn’t speak to them, Nicole and Dustin got to spend quality time with their guests and really focus on beginning a marriage. The best advice I learned from watching them:  pick what’s important to you on your wedding day and ignore the rest! You’ll be happier for it.

Nicole and Dustin, thank you for traipsing all over the mountain with us for your Beaver Creek wedding! We hope you’re getting some much deserved relaxation in Canada.
