Spruce Mountain Ranch has been one of our all-time favorite wedding venues ever since we photographed our first wedding there way back in 2015. We’ve shot several weddings at SMR since then, but we’ve always worked at the “Upper Ranch” venue. Little did we know, the sprawling complex has a second wedding venue location called “Lower Ranch” that is just as photogenic as its twin up the road. Needless to say, when we found out that Nerisse and Rob would be hosting their fall wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch at the new venue (well, new to us), we were absolutely thrilled.
The Lower Ranch venue is comprised of Albert’s Lodge, which is the main reception area, the Colorado Room, where happy hour is hosted, and Grace’s Chapel, an outdoor ceremony spot on the lawn surrounded by tall trees and the far-off Rocky Mountains.
We started the day with bridal prep and then headed out to explore the grounds with the couple. After a ceremony on the lawn and cocktail hour in the Colorado Room, Nerisse and Rob – along with all of their guests – headed over to Albert’s lodge for dinner, toasts and dancing. The party, which lasted late into the night, was complete with an impromptu game of football and a reenactment of the serenade scene from Top Gun (Nerisse and Rob are both in the U.S. Airforce.)
As the party wound down, the newlyweds did one final dance alone as their guests lined up and prepared to send them off in style with bubbles.
Nerisse and Rob, thank you so much for bringing us on board to shoot your amazing fall wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch. We hope our paths cross again down the road!
