Lily Lake Wedding

In the span of a week, Colorado went from snow to 90-degree weather. So Jesse and I were excited to escape the heat of the city for Jamie and Dane’s Lily Lake wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park last weekend.

Lily Lake is one of our favorite spots in Estes Park. We first discovered it almost a year ago at Katie and Kevin’s Dao House wedding when we snuck them off for Milky Way photos after their party had wound down. Not only is the lake quiet and much less crowded than other spaces in Rocky Mountain National Park (especially in the summer), the views are just as breathtaking. The lake itself is surrounded by a pine forest and in the background, Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker tower over the scene, reminding you just how immense our mountains in Colorado are. And the sheer variety of photo opportunities in this one small area is mind-boggling!

It was also the perfect spot for Jamie and Dane’s wedding. If they were to make a list of things they love, it would include each other, their kids, and being outside. And depending on how the kids are behaving that day, not necessarily in that order. In fact, their house sits on a secluded 35-acre plot of land, of which Jesse and I are intensely jealous, with a clear view of Longs Peak. So the tranquility and remoteness of Lily Lake was an ideal location for the couple to officially join their families together in front of a select group of friends and family.

Jamie and Dane, we’re so thankful you chose us to document your Lily Lake wedding day! Soul Squared is still on our list of breweries to visit. When we do get there, we hope you’ll join us!
