Aerial Engagement

As millions of people were spending Wednesday night in crowded airports on their way to celebrate Thanksgiving, Jesse and I were hanging out with Cat and Bryant at Copper Mountain’s Woodward Training Facility for their aerial engagement session. At our first meeting with the couple, they casually mentioned doing their engagement session at Woodward and I agreed, having no idea what that actually meant. Once I Googled it and glimpsed photos of the interior, I knew this engagement session would be one for the records.

We arrived as the facility was just wrapping up their public hours; kids were launching themselves off of jumps and doing flips on the trampolines as their parents watched from the viewing deck. Once everyone cleared out, we soon realized that this place has the ability to turn even the stodgiest adult into a little kid again. After watching Bryant’s first launch off a jump, I decided that I’d use any excuse I could find to jump into the foam pit. Need help getting out? Oh, here, let me jump in and help you. Need some behind-the-scenes photos? I’m pretty sure the best view is from the foam pit.

After “warming up” on the jumps and half pipe, we turned the lights off (thanks, manager Dave!) and moved on to the trampolines where Cat and Bryant practiced jumping in tandem while looking at the camera. Believe me, it’s a lot harder than they make it look.

We could have stayed there all night, but Dave needed to get home, so we wrapped our shoot in Copper Village, making use of the holiday lights.

Cat and Bryant, your aerial engagement has set the bar high for everyone else’s jumping photos. We can’t wait for your wedding in May!
