Vail Ski Engagement

If you ever hear me complain about what we do for a living, I want you to go ahead and just slap me. Then remind me about this Vail ski engagement session.

Kelly and Chris are awesome people. I know this to be true for several reasons. In no particular order:

They’re adventurous:  When I first explained our Alt Sessions, they both completely got it. More importantly, they were instantly on board and excited. Both are avid riders, familiar with Colorado’s mountain resorts. We picked Vail for the ski portion of their Alt Session as it’s near their wedding venue (Camp Hale). During our extensive travels around the mountain, Kelly mentioned that she enjoyed just showing up and letting us decide where to go based on our photo ideas. Our explorations took us from the main village to the back bowls to “pendant le ski” drinks at Two Elk Lodge.

Their wedding reception is going to be amazing:  When Chris first met Kelly’s family, they went from a formal, sit-down dinner to shotgunning beers in the hot tub. Someone may or may not have ended up jumping in a lake in Wisconsin in April. Our fingers are crossed that someone may jump into the lake in July at Camp Hale.

They have fun together:  Throughout the day, both Kelly and Chris smiled constantly and laughed easily. They broke into an impromptu snow fight when we stopped for some photos in the woods. They even decided to buy some champagne to spray at the top of the mountain as we watched the sun set! It was immediately clear to me that they have a blast together, no matter what they’re up to. And that, my friends, is exactly what you want to look for when deciding whether or not to spend your life with someone.

But this Vail ski engagement wasn’t finished yet! After a dinner break and a wardrobe change, we headed a few miles west to  Beaver Creek Mountain for the second part of this Alt Session.
