Grand Lake Lodge Wedding

I’m not a fan of trends in general. They become outdated just as quickly as they show up. But post-pandemic, we’ve been seeing a new trend pop up: the epic wedding weekend. If this trend means that more couples get to celebrate the way Jen and Ross did at their Grand Lake Lodge wedding, I’m 100% in.

When COVID hit, Jen and Ross, like so many others, were sent to work from home. Fortunately for them, “home” could be anywhere, and they chose Lake Dillon in Colorado. They spent time there with a group of friends, working, pontooning, and generally making the best of a bad situation.

So for their wedding, they wanted to capture and share some of that mountain lake magic with their friends and family. The weekend started off with a pontoon boat party around Grand Lake, where select guests got the chance to captain the boats.

The enchantment continued into the next day, with Jen and Ross’s first look at Point Park. As Mt. Baldy presided over the background, weekend boaters cheered them on and shouted congratulations. After a quick sprinkle moved through the tiny mountain town, Jen and Ross exchanged vows at the most beautiful ceremony site overlooking the town, the lake, and the Rockies stretching off into the distance.

The day wrapped up with a legendary dance party, which included bubbles, tequila shots and stripteases. And while we weren’t able to stick around for the farewell brunch the next day, I”m confident that it was just as memorable as the rest of the weekend.

Jen and Ross, your friends and family are fortunate to have you in their lives. To have not just one, but two people who are willing to create such an impressive and unforgettable experience is invaluable. We’re honored to have been there to experience everything alongside you and your community!

  • Fall Wedding in Vail

Last weekend, rains swept through the mountains, clearing out the smoke from the many forest fires burning in the West. Luckily, that didn’t matter for Genevieve and Jon’s fall wedding in Vail. The Sonnenalp simply closed Ludwig’s glass roof and the ceremony continued on, sheltered from the rain but maintaining the beautiful forest-like atmosphere. Genevieve…

It’s been a season of firsts for us – from a nighttime portrait with the Denver skyline in the background to a pre-wedding snowboarding shoot at Beaver Creek.
