Hotel Colorado Wedding

The Hotel Colorado is known for its many famous guests. From Teddy Roosevelt, who stayed often enough that it became known as the “White House of the West,” to the unsinkable Molly Brown, to notorious gangster Al Capone. At the beginning of this month, it added Kristen and David and their wedding guests to the list.

When Kristen reached out to see if we were available for their wedding, I was immediately intrigued. They wanted to fully embrace the historic feel of the hotel into the theme of their wedding. From their look – Kristen had pinup-style hair and makeup while David looked dapper in his three-piece suit – to the antique-looking furs worn by their wedding party, they wanted that old-timey feel.

So naturally, Jesse and I fully embraced that with their photos! After all, we love a good theme that lets us get creative. In the case of Kristen and David that meant some long exposure fun at the end of the night. Inspired by the Molly Brown suite, where they’d be staying the night of their wedding, we created some ghostly nighttime portraits as the full moon peeked in and out of the clouds.

Kristen and David, we had so much fun with you, both capturing the moments of your day and creating some unique portraits! Let us know the next time you’re in Colorado so we can go hunt for some more ghosts (or just do some more fun portraits)!
