We were up bright and early for Olivia and Colin’s state park engagement shoot at Golden Gate Canyon–and we were rewarded for it. The soft morning light lit up the aspen grove where we started our shoot. The beautifully serene park was a perfect place to start the fall day; the only things you could hear were leaves rustling, birds chirping, and brooks babbling. And Jefferson, Olivia and Colin’s teacup pig, softly snuffling as he explored all the smells on the forest floor. Check out some of our favorite photos from the shoot. Continue reading →

I swear I must have checked the weather at least fifty times on Friday and Saturday. We had a Union Station engagement shoot planned with Ashley and Tim for Saturday evening at sunset and Colorado had decided it was going to have one of its few cloudy days. I was completely convinced that we would be shooting with flat light and no view of the mountains. Shantel and Matt invited us out to their neck of the woods (Alderfer Three Sisters Park in Evergreen, CO) for what turned out to be a perfect afternoon for an engagement shoot. The park was peaceful and the weather was beautiful–even the fickle winter sun cooperated. We wandered around the grounds, climbed some rocks, and even got to hang out with their awesome Corgi, Miles. Check out some of our favorite photos from the Wednesday shoot: Continue reading →
Last night, we returned to Red Rocks Amphitheatre for another engagement shoot with Jessica and Ryan. Even though the weather threatened rain all evening, all we had were some dramatic clouds and a rainbow. With views of both the mountains and Denver (not to mention plenty of rocks, which Jessica – a geologist – really appreciated), Red Rocks turned out to be the perfect place for us to spend a couple hours taking photos. It was a beautiful morning in Denver for Katelyn and Chris’s engagement shoot. We started out in the Denver Art Museum/Civic Center area and, after a quick wardrobe change for the bride and groom-to-be, we migrated a few miles west to another of our favorite spots: Sloan’s Lake Park. It’s rare to find a spot in Denver that has a great view of both the city and the mountains, but Sloan’s Lake Park offers it all, which made it the perfect spot for Jenifer and Karl’s engagement photos last Thursday. With the warm afternoon sun, a variety of photogenic locations, and an energetic couple, I consider the shoot a success. Continue reading →
