Cielo at Castle Pines Wedding
There’s that old adage that good things come to those who wait. But poor Sheridan and Danny ended up waiting four years for their Cielo at Castle Pines wedding. Nevertheless, one deployment, two COVID reschedules, and one adorable little baby later, their celebration was absolutely worth the wait!
And while I could talk about how beautiful the wedding was (gorgeous!) or all the happy tears and belly laughs (loads!), one thing really stood out to me about Sheridan and Danny’s wedding was the strong women.
I had the privilege to work with both Sheridan and her mother, Deb, over more than a year. These two are forces to be reckoned with. As the entire world was shutting down in early 2020, Danny was in Japan and Sheridan was in the States. She got the feeling that she needed to pick up everything and go be with Danny, so she…just did it. No extended moving timelines and very little advanced notice to pack. In fact, her plane was one of the last to be let in to the country. So over the matter of a few days, Sheridan moved to a brand new country and began making it feel like home for both herself and Danny.
Deb was there for both Sheridan and Danny, the entire way. She often picked up whatever wedding planning needed to be done, especially with the added complexity of huge time zone differences. All the while, she planned thoughtful surprises for the couple, to make an already important day even more special.
While we can’t deny that it’s good for this world to have strong women in it, it’s just as crucial to have men who love them. Danny checks this box many times over. Not only does he support Sheridan in all she does (right down to buying matching holiday outfits for their little family), he keeps her grounded and fills their lives with humor. And his love for Sheridan and Lily is clearly boundless.
So Lily, I usually use these final sentences to thank our couple for being amazing people, but instead, I want to tell you: Your parents are some of the most amazing. You’re in good hands and next in a long line of strong women. I can’t wait to see what you do to change this world!
QUICK TIP
Wedding reception entertainment has changed so much in the past few years. Gone are the days where you just hired a DJ and that was it. This year alone, we’ve seen live painters, magicians, casino tables, ping pong, air hockey, retro arcade games, bubble machines, liquid nitrogen ice cream bar, and the couple’s favorite band.
