Tapestry House Microwedding
There are so many things I love about Alli and Shawn and their Tapestry House wedding, I don’t even know where to begin.
Maybe with the most obvious? They feel the same way we do about white dresses in that they’re not a requirement for a wedding. Alli actually told me about the dress she was considering on our very first phone call. I made her text me a photo, because I just had to see what kind of dress can best be described as a “storm cloud.” I appreciated it even more knowing that Shawn is a scientist at an atmospheric research center.
They also eschewed the idea that a wedding has to take place on a Saturday. In fact, I might argue that their Monday wedding should start a trend. Mondays are known as being an awful, dreaded day. Why not take back Mondays and turn them into a celebration?
But even more than the periphery of this Tapestry House wedding, my favorite thing about these two was how clearly smitten they are with each other. I can’t count the number of times that Alli told me how lucky she felt to be marrying Shawn. Or how often I would catch Shawn gazing at Alli across the room. These two newlyweds have found their own little sanctuary in the midst of this crazy, chaotic world and I hope everyone is lucky enough to do the same.
So if you’re planning a wedding, use Alli and Shawn as a guide. First and foremost, make sure you’re madly in love. Then do whatever the heck you want to make it your day!
Alli and Shawn, thank you so much for including us in your celebration. We hope you enjoyed Jamaica; let’s finally get together for that drink soon!
