The Boulders Black Canyon Inn Wedding

Michelle and Jamie fell in love in one of the most inhospitable places in the world. They’ve been through more in the past few years than most couples endure in a lifetime. But their determination to meet life head on and find joy wherever they are is worthy of emulation. Including during their Boulders Black Canyon Inn wedding.

From the moment we arrived at the welcome party to the end of their wedding reception, it was clear that Michelle and Jamie had eschewed the wedding machine that told them what they were “supposed” to do in favor of what they wanted to do. Their welcome party was a chill reception at The Barrel with beer and tacos (our personal favorite!). The morning was filled with hanging out with friends and pushups on top of a massive boulder.

Even for their portraits, they rolled with the punches. When the rain threatened to show up early, both Michelle and Jamie were completely cool starting on portraits early to beat the downpour. They even snuck in a quick trail run in their wedding attire. (Trail runs are when these two are most themselves; check out their Alt Session for more picturesque trail running.)

The rest of the day was just as laid back and joyful as the beginning, from the poignant ceremony to the impromptu glow stick limbo contest. Michelle and Jamie’s wedding was what every photographer dreams of!

Roller and Goose, it has been such a joy to be part of your celebration for the last year. Thanks for the adventures, the deep conversations, and the photos of Eli. We wish you so many more epic journeys (and hope that maybe we can join you for some of them…or at least another random Las Vegas meetup or two)!

Anya and Ben’s Garden of the Gods wedding was so epic, it couldn’t be contained to a single day or location. Instead, we joined the couple and their guests for three days of partying at the Garden of the Gods Resort and the Pinery, both with equally beautiful – but vastly different – views of Colorado Springs.

When Katherine and Ben reached out to us over a year ago about photographing their Arapahoe Basin wedding, we were excited out of the gates. After 14 years of photographing weddings, we’ve been to a lot of wedding venues. But there are still a lot more on our “want to photograph” list and A-Basin was one of them.
